Old Hampshire Mapped has digitised images of early
printed maps of Hampshire, from Saxton 1575 onward. The
site includes maps by:- Saxton 1575; Norden 1595; Speed 1611; Keer 1620; Blaeu 1645; Blome 1673; Ogilby 1675; Morden 1676; Morden 1695; Senex 1719; Bowen 1720; Kitchin 1751; Kitchin 1767; Harrison 1788; Milne 1791 (Faden); Ordnance Survey 1st series 1810s; Mogg 1814; Perrot 1823; Greenwood 1826; etc. All the maps are presented clearly, and a number of the county maps and the road strip maps are analysed in some detail with place name gazetteers. There is
supporting descriptive text by Leland 1535-43; Camden 1610 translation; Defoe 1724; Cox 1738; Cobbett 1832; etc. Where possible raw data, comma delimited files of place
name data, and images files of the map and analysed layers,
are made available.

the maps. It is a gazetteer of about 8000 places in
Hampshire supported by images from early printed maps, and
quotes from early travellers and others.
